Q1. How does the Elimileak System work?

The Elimileak System collects throughput data from your water meter using a sensor which is connected to the meter itself. The system constantly monitors this data using a patented process in order to look for the continuous flow patterns associated with water leaks and water wastage. When a potential leak or wastage situation has been detected the system alarm will be triggered allowing remedial action to be taken. As the data used by the Elimileak system is collected from the water meter itself, any meter reading or consumption data displayed by the system will reflect usage that will be used by the water company for billing purposes.

Q2. How easy is it to fit an Elimileak System?

All Elimileak systems are fitted by fully trained staff following set installation procedures. The work is carried out with minimal disruption to the customer and there is no need to turn off the water supply. The standard Elimileak Radio-Link System should take approximately 3 to 4 hours to install but more complex sites will take longer.

Q3. Can anyone have an Elimileak fitted?

If you are a metered customer then the answer is yes, provided your water meter is fitted with a “pulse output”. Most modern water meters are pulsing meters and in the unlikely event that your meter is not provided with this facility then we can arrange to have your water company upgrade the meter.

Q4. How much does the Elimileak System Cost?

The price of each system installation depends upon the individual site conditions and equipment requirements. But as a guide, the standard Elimileak Radio-Link System (fully installed) retails at well under £1,000. This cost is often recovered within 12 months of installation (see below).

Q5. What is the payback period of the system?

Again this is dependent upon the customers individual circumstances. In cases where a leak is discovered shortly after installation the payback period can effectively be less than 24hrs. Experience has shown that in 40% of cases a major leak is identified within 12 months of initial installation, more than recovering the cost of the system. Even in circumstances where the customer pipe network does not leak, the cost of the system can be more than recovered over time through improved water consumption management.

Q6. Does the Elimileak System need any ongoing maintenance?

nce installed, the only scheduled maintenance required by your Elimileak system is a battery change in the system transmitter unit. Under normal conditions this will usually be necessary approximately 3 years after initial installation but in some circumstances may be sooner if the “low battery” warning light appears before the three year period expires. It is possible for the user to change the transmitter batteries but we recommend that you arrange a service visit by your Elimileak installer in order to ensure that your system set-up is checked following the battery replacement.
